After the loss of her own beloved pet 'Lucas' a 15 ½ year old Sheltie, Carmel wanted to honor his name and also saw a need for accommodations where families and pets could stay together while under going treatment at WSU. Lucas House is a short drive to WSU Veterinary Hospital.
Lucas House offers a self contained apartment including a queen size bed with pillow top mattress, a living room with flat screen television and satellite network, videos and exercise bike. Wireless internet is available complementary. The kitchenette contains a microwave, bar size refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster, plates and utensils along with a breakfast/dining table. There is a private bathroom with shower. There is a book shelf containing numerous books on animal health care, pet rescue, training and heartwarming stories. A collection of fun pet related artwork and novelty items are displayed throughout.
Outdoors Lucas House offers a patio setting with umbrella, manicured lawns, garden beds and mature trees. The native fauna that graces the property includes white tailed deer, rabbits and an abundance of birds including quail, pheasant and Great Horned Owls.
Lucas House provides pet dishes and towels for your pet along with tie out stakes on the lawn area.
